Broadmoor Baptist Church is a community church in Baton Rouge, LA affiliated with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. Recently Exergame was lucky enough to work with this church in their first steps to building out their youth space.
Exergaming, which combines exercise with video gaming, can be a fun and engaging way to promote physical activity and community building within a youth group at a church. Here are a few ideas.
- Team Building Activities: Use exergaming as a team-building activity by organizing multiplayer games that require teamwork and cooperation. Games like Just Dance or Kinect Sports encourage players to work together towards a common goal, fostering camaraderie and communication skills among participants.
- Incorporate Biblical Themes: Integrate biblical themes or messages into exergaming sessions by discussing relevant topics before or after gameplay sessions. For example, you can tie in concepts of perseverance, discipline, and self-control with the physical challenges presented in the games.
- Health and Wellness Workshops: Host health and wellness workshops as part of your youth group activities, focusing on topics like nutrition, exercise, and overall well-being. Use exergaming demonstrations as interactive elements to illustrate the importance of staying active and making healthy lifestyle choices.
At Broadmoor we were able to start with one of our most uniqiue products the tWall! Whether training for power, agility, endurance, flexibility, or reaction, tWALL tests your personal limits resulting in the ultimate fitness gaming platform for any challenge.
