The Dynavision D2 light board measures performance and records the data to track improvement. Training on the D2 improves reaction times, visual motor-coordination and peripheral visual awareness. By improving these skills, the user makes better, faster, smarter decisions. The Dynavision incorporates a tachistoscope that increases the degree of focus and cognitive processing that is essential in producing the needed results for top athletes.

Designed for high performance athletic training, D2 training can help a quarterback see the whole field while focused on the down field receivers. It can help hitters in baseball recognize what type of pitch is being thrown more quickly.  It can help basketball players make quicker decisions on the basketball court as well.

It was also discovered that it’s a valuable evaluation tool for head injuries, concussions, etc. Concussions are such a huge topic in football that parents are now contemplating even letting their kids play football. The concussion protocol in the NFL has come under some major scrutiny as well. NFL teams have been ripped for allowing players to come in too quickly after a player is suspected of having a concussion. I believe the NFL needs to have a stricter concussion protocol before allowing a player to return to the field. The Dynavision could help immensely!

The D2 can be very beneficial for athletes that are suspected of having a concussion.  For example, The University of Cincinnati has used the D2 to perform baseline test on athletes in pre-season. If a concussion occurs, post injury performance can be compared to baseline scores to aid in making a return to play decision. This has become known as the concussion project. By using the D2 for testing and rehabilitation, user performance data is tracked to objectively track recovery progress. This allows for a better-informed return to play decision.

The ultimate goal for all medical professionals is that the athlete returns to the playing field at 100% full health. The D2 can be a helpful tool for medical professionals all across the world in evaluating concussions.
