The 2011 B’More Healthy Event was one of the largest health and wellness events in Baltimore history with over 25,000 attendees. Kids, adults, and the elderly were treated to an Expo that was designed to showcase vendors, programs, and opportunities to get people moving , taking action and making choices to be more healthy.
At the event attendees were shown some of the latest and greatest in the Exergaming Industry provided by Exergame Fitness. People looking to see how climbing can be a form of exercise were happy to see the Freedom Climber there. The 3-Kick, an interactive fitness experience that promotes movement by using proprietary and resilient foam pads that can be punched, kicked, slapped, or tapped with shoes or bare feet, a fist, or an open palm was a huge hit. Also the iDANCE 2, a multiplayer dance system was showcasing how older adults can play Exergames along with their younger children!
iDANCE multiplayer concept is a revolutionary Exergaming system that was designed specifically for environments such as Schools, YMCA’s, JCCs, Park Districts and Health Clubs. It is unique in many facets including the fact that it provides the user with a combination of physical, social and cognitive benefits and that it accommodates up to 32-players at once on up to 3 separate difficulty levels with real-time performance feedback.
Parker Johnson of Exergame Fitness said, “iDANCE is always one of the most popular items when we do events. It attracts people of all ages to come and try something that they have never done before. While some have probably tried the traditional DDR, not many if any have played a wireless, projection based multiplayer game. If you show me something where someone ages 5, 10, 40, and 80 can all play the same game, then I will show you something fun!”
The event was not only great for attendees but the vendors as well, many already looking forward to the opportunities they will have next year with the city of Baltimore.
