ROLLING MEADOWS, IL — Motion Fitness is proud to announce their partnership with Humana Games for Health in the distribution efforts to bring The Horsepower Challenge and activity based online game play to more communities throughout the country.
“The Horsepower Challenge,” developed by Humana, is a unique exercise/video-game program intended to increase kids’ activity to improve their health. Participating students are given smart pedometers, called actipeds, to wear on their shoes and keep track of steps. Steps are then wirelessly uploaded to Horsepower Challenge website during the challenge.
“We are creating a new category called Active Game Play that combines engaging games, individual competition, group competition and social integration with a base foundation of physical fitness and activity levels. The Horsepower Challenge and other Active Game Play titles will work with Exergame Fitness, which is a distribution division of Motion Fitness. Kids in schools, after-school programs and other community and health club programs will be able to participate through a fun, engaging, and motivating environment.

Sponsors, Community Leaders, and Educators will be able to track and monitor the activity of the group participants to see the change in their physical activity behaviors. “We want to show how a business can showcase their community responsibility by being an active partner in kids health. With a live web feed they can see the local group’s summary of steps, progression in the game and carbon footprint reduction,” adds Ed Kasanders.
