The Boys & Girls Club of Newton (‘the Club’) has its beginnings all the way back in 1899, as the Nonantum Athletic Association (N.N.A.) which was formed to provide recreational services for youth. In 1974 they were officially renamed The Boys & Girls Club of Newton.
The overarching goal of the 2019-2023 plan is to increase value and effectiveness for children and families by strengthening the John M. Barry Boys & Girls Club of Newton financially and operationally. Part of their two main areas of interest within this strategic plan is to focus on health & wellness, and invest in new technology programs.
Exergaming is a comprehensive health and wellness program. It works hard to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing daily physical activity, teaching them that technology can promote exercise and helping them develop special relationships with their fellow members.
Recently the John Barry Boys & Girls Club was able to add the iWall to fit into their strategic plan. iWall is a fun and versatile exergaming product that lets you become a part of the game! Play on your own or share the fun with someone in multiplayer mode in one of the several fitness games.
