The Raymond P. Lavietes Clubhouse was full of energy on earlier this month as Club Kids eagerly played in the newly transformed Exergame Room and prepared to welcome special guests — the generous donors who made it all possible.

Once a traditional workout space, the room has now evolved with the ages into an interactive hub for health and fun, thanks to the contributions of The Bassett Family Fund (a fund at The Valley Community Foundation), Beth Fortin Family Foundation, Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley Alumni Association and Leading Level Fitness.

The Exergames at the Raymond P. Lavietes Clubhouse have been operational for the past year, available to all age groups during the school year and summer camp. Access to the Exergame Room is a part of the Healthy Lifestyle commitment Boys & Girls Club promise to their members.

Healthy Lifestyles is one of the four core pillars of Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The health and wellness programs are structured to empower kids and teens to build strong relationships, manage emotions, develop problem-solving skills, and engage in activities that support their overall well-being and growth.

This incredible transformation of our Exergame Room is a testament to the power of community and generosity,” said Shaye Roscoe, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. Thanks to our donors, this space will inspire our Club Kids to stay active, healthy, and engaged in a way that’s both fun and innovative. We are deeply grateful to The Bassett Family Fund, Beth Fortin Family Foundation, our Alumni Association, and Leading Level Fitness for investing in our youth and their future.”

Lynne Bassett Perry reflected the Exergame Ribbon Cutting saying The Bassett Family is truly honored to contribute to something that the kids absolutely love! Seeing their joy as they showcased the games, and the pride amongst the staff as they introduced them was the highlight of the day. The event was a powerful reminder that we can all make great things happen when we come together!”

The Club is deeply thankful to our donors who passionately invest in the future of our youth, supporting innovative tools that inspire engagement and promote healthy living.
