An increasing use of technology means fewer kids to meet physical activity guidelines so the Greater Scranton YMCA wanted to help kids fight obesity while still having fun. Many kids spend an average of 50 hours a week in front of a screen, whether that on the computer or playing video games. But now, thank to an interactive fitness arcade, kids at the YMCA can get a great work out while still enjoying their favorite games. the new Exergame Youth Fitness Arcade opened Monday, Dec. 23rd — it’s all part of the Y’s goal to help combat childhood obesity. This total project cost a total of $32,000 and was all in effort to fight childhood obesity.
