Carl Sandburg Learning Center is a small, public, elementary school dedicated to providing special education instruction to students with multiple disabilities. It is part of the Montgomery County Public School system and is located in Rockville, Maryland, a suburb of Washington, D.C. Sandburg serves about 115 students in grades kindergarten through 5th grade in a highly structured classrooms of 8 to 10 students per teacher and para educator support.
One of their newest additions for the upcoming school year will be the tWall 16. The tWall 16 is perfect for kids who are 16 years or younger. This machine is also great for facilities that don’t have that much space, but do have a drive to help kids be the best that they can be. From hand eye coordination to focusing better, the tWall 16 will help kids who need an extra boost in agility, flexibility, and reaction.
Specially at the Carl Sandburg Learning Center, students on the autism spectrum, and those with ADD and ADHD will be using the tWall. Things like behavior integration, sensory needs, and cognitive integration are just a few of the applications that can be tied into using the tWall.
With things like art, music, physical education, speech-language therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy being provided within the context of the curriculum at Carl Sandburg. Exergame and the tWall 16 can now be integrated to help all levels of students.
