In 2012, North Crawford SchoolDistrict in Wisconsin was one of the lucky schools that won the Carol M. White Physical Education Program Grant (PEP)award. The PEP grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Safe and Healthy Schools (OSHS)and gives schools the funding to enhance Physical Education and Nutrition programs.
North Crawford chose exergames as a way to keep students active and to this day it continues to use exergames as it combines exercise with something kids love, gaming. With our iDance product, they have created a fun group-based interactive dance class. About 32 students can dance on their own wireless dance pad at varying intensity levels based on their skills.
This Saturday, April 26, North Crawford along with its health care partner Vernon Memorial Healthcare is hosting the “Spring It On!” event where the community can explore healthy lifestyle opportunities, iDance equipment, their new climbing wall, and outdoor fitness challenge course.
This fun-filled day is free and open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon. It is another way North Crawford is helping students and the community stay fit and healthy. Please stop by if you’re in the area and share with us your experience at North Crawford School District located at 47050 Country Road X in Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin.
