Rob Robertson and his wife recently opened the first Skittles SOS Childcare Center for special education. One of the main highlights of this new center would be the tWall. The T-Wall is a new generation model that comes with tons of new features including a sensor concept for therapy and an all new more hygenic surface, easy to clean and perfect for heavy use.
1. Sensory Stimulation
- Visual and Auditory Feedback: The lights and sounds from the Twall provide immediate feedback, which can be highly engaging for students with sensory processing needs. This helps maintain their attention and provides a multisensory learning experience.
- Tactile Interaction: Pressing the buttons offers a tactile component that can be beneficial for students who benefit from touch-based learning.
2. Physical Activity
- Gross Motor Skills: The Twall encourages movement and physical activity, which helps in developing gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, and spatial awareness.
- Fine Motor Skills: Some activities may also help improve fine motor skills by requiring precise movements.
3. Cognitive Development
- Reaction Time and Decision Making: The interactive nature of the Twall requires students to react quickly to changing lights, enhancing their reaction time and decision-making abilities.
- Problem-Solving: Games and activities can be designed to include problem-solving tasks, helping students develop critical thinking skills.
